Burning Man Bus Conversion
The client of Acorn Tiny Homes took on a unique project, acquiring a prison bus from a state auction with the intention of converting it into a functional space. However, lacking the technical expertise and creative vision, the client's initial attempt fell short, resulting in an unsafe and unsatisfactory skoolie. Although Acorn does not typically undertake conversions, they decided to take on this one-off project while awaiting the delivery of their next Tiny Home trailer.
The goal was to transform the bus into a party mobile for the Burning Man Festival in the Nevada Desert. Acorn's in-house technical team worked their magic, outfitting the bus with a commercial-grade sound system and a fully off-grid system powered by solar energy and water. The bus also boasts an abundance of addressable LED strip lighting, creating an immersive and dynamic atmosphere.
Inside, the bus features a fully functional kitchen, a luxurious curb-free shower, and custom convertible couches. During the day, the space allows for ample movement, but at night, it can comfortably accommodate 6-8 people for a restful sleep. This steampunk man cave is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable party mobiles one could encounter.
It's important to note that this was a unique and singular project for Acorn, as they do not typically undertake commissions for bus or van conversions. However, their commitment to exceptional craftsmanship and creativity led them to take on this extraordinary endeavor, resulting in a party bus that stands out from the crowd.
