Tiny Tea House Cottage (225 Sq Ft)
The 225 sq ft space was designed for a Japanese client who wanted a tiny house that reminded them of the tea houses they used to visit as a child. The home's interior features shoji screens, tatami mats, a sunken tea warming hearth, and a tea serving chest to create an authentic tea house look.
The tea house's interior features knotty spruce walls with contrasting black walnut. The home's kitchen features black walnut shelves, recessed puck lighting, a two-burner gas range, and red oak butcherblock countertops. The loft bedroom comes outfitted with additional tatami mats, two skylights, and a red oak sliding ladder to get up and down. For the bathroom, the Oregon Cottage Company installed a Japanese soaking tub and a composting toilet.
